@DarkAngelrace But didn't the French Revolution come after in 1789. 13 years after the Declaration of Independence. I would say other influences like the writings of Rousseau and Locke and the fact that settlers came to America to get away from the king would be a major part of it. Really both revolutions were just the end result of the Age of Enlightenment.

This revolution was a inspiration for the one that took place in Russia in 1917.It was also one of the first in western Europe.We (the french) are all proud of it even if it turned out to be a blood bath (La terreur) as most of revolutions.Revolution is a war but its legacy is still there : our national motto "Liberté, égalité, fraternité" ( Liberty, equality, fraternity), the national anthem ("La marseillaise"), etc ...

@DarkAngelrace Um, the American revolution happened thirteen years before the French revolution. The latter was inspired by the former... though it obviously didn't turn out as well.The French Revolution in the end served only as an example of how NOT to do a revolution.
